Martha "Pinkie" Langford Lloyd

Martha â€œPinkieâ€ Langford Lloyd age 81, died Monday, June 9, 2014 at her residence in Greenville, Florida.Â Born in Cross City, Florida on February 27, 1933 to the late Marvin Henry Carlton and Mattie Futch, she moved to Perry at the age of 2.Â Mrs. Pinkie was well known as Co-Owner/Operator of Langfordâ€™s Playground (Skating Rink) with her former husband, the late Luther Langford in Perry for 30 years.Â Mrs. Pinkie spent the past 17 years in Greenville. Â She worked with many organizations and served in many capacities.Â For over 30 years she was a member of the Board of Trustees for Pisgah Cemetery.Â During her 60 years with Woodman of the World Lodge 460, she served first as Secretary, then as Treasurer, Vice-President and as President.Â Her service with this organization expanded as she served on the North Florida Youth Camp Board of Directors for 25 years.Â Mrs.Â Pinkie received numerous awards such as A Women of Woodcraft award in 1982, the Good Neighbor Award in 1986, a certificate of appreciation of faithful service in 1980 and again in 1981, recognition of outstanding dedication and leadership from 1979 â€" 1991. Â She was a worker for over 20 years with the USDA Second Harvest Food Distribution, delivering surplus government food to the elderly and needy. Â Â In 1984 at the age of 51 she acquired her GED.Â She was a Charter Member of Westside Baptist Church in Perry and most recently became a member of the Renewed Life Outreach Center in Greenville, FL. Â She is survived by her husband, Edward Lloyd of Greenville; one son: Sam Langford of Stone Mountain, Georgia; two step-sons Johnny Lloyd of Pinetta, FL and Eddie Lloyd of Greenville.Â One Daughter Karen Trickler of Covington, Georgia; one brother Perry Alton â€œSlickâ€ Carlton of Perry; three sisters: Mary Elizabeth Gavilan of Jacksonville Florida, Lee Young of Perry and April Davis of Crawfordville; two Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.Â She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers: Hoyt Carlton and Bill Carlton Â Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Beggs Perry Chapel with burial at Pisgah Cemetery.Â The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Â Â Beggs Funeral Home Perry Chapel is in charge of rrangements.Â To send your condolences to the family visit our website at www.beggsfuneral.com
