He had served on the Board of Directors for the Madison County Tobacco Warehouse, the Madison Farmers Co-op, and the ASCS office. He was very proud that the fourth and fifth generations were carrying on the farming tradition. He was a 1949 graduate of Greenville High School. In his Senior year, when the bus drivers owned the school buses, he would often drive his father's bus route to deliver students to school. Mr. Hamrick was an avid and talented fisherman.
