Mrs Louella Thigpen Thompson
September 5, 1933 - November 19, 2021
“ For her worth is far above rubies.” Proverbs 31:10 Louella Thigpen Thompson, 88, of Madison, FL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 19, 2021, passing peacefully, surrounded by family at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, FL. Born to parents, David and Sadie Thigpen, on September 5, 1933, in Greenville, FL, she was the third of seven children. In 1950, she met and married Wilbur Thompson, her loving husband of 40 years, until his death in 1990. After 15 years of marriage and being told by doctors that they could never have children, God blessed them with the miracle of a son, Doug, who became her very reason for living. When Doug started school, Louella began her 29-year bus driving career with Madison County Schools which would last until her retirement in 2003. She was an active and involved mother, enjoying every second of Doug’s school years, especially high school, when she managed THE GAME ROOM in downtown Madison, loving and mentoring teenagers along the way. She was affectionately known to many of them as “Mom.” Louella was the perfect example of a Godly wife and mother with a huge heart full of love, generosity, and kindness for all. Her kind spirit shined through her eyes. and her high energy personality and smile were infectious. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Doug Thompson, (Danise Watson) of Valdosta, GA; her long time and beloved companion, E.G. (Buddy) Fox of Madison, FL; sisters, Lorina Eakins of Clearwater, FL, Myrtice Hagan and husband, Harold, and Myrtle Partain, of Lake Wales FL; many wonderful nieces and nephews and her two fur babies, Tom and Lucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilbur Jerome Thompson; one sister, Lilly Mae Moore, and brothers, Thomas Thigpen and W.H. Thigpen. Mrs. Louella was a loving wife, mother, companion, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed. …and God surely exclaims, “Welcome Home, good and faithful servant!” Homegoing services for Mrs. Thompson will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Madison Church of God located at 771 NE Colin Kelly HWy (Valdosta Highway) Madison, FL with Pastor Jason Justus officiating.
