Annie Louise Smith Vickers

Madison: Annie Louise Smith Vickers, age 89 (and only 12 days short of 90, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital of aspiration pneumonia. Visitation was held Monday, January 19, 2015 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Beggs Funeral Home. Graveside services was held at 3:00 PM Monday at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Madison, FL. Louise was born, raised and lived most of her life right here in Madison county. She was the second of three children born to William Caleb Smith and Mamie Susannah Humphrey Smith also of Madison County. She and her husband, the late Monte Grayon Vickers, were married for 42 years before his death in 1988 and had eight children. Louise was a housewife for all of her married years and she loved to cook, sew, quilt, arrange flowers, paint and donate her time giving back to those in need. She loved nothing more than cooking for her family and hosting large family get-togethers. She was a devout member of the Rocky Springs United Methodist Church. She is survived by five children: Glenn Allen Vickers of Cherry Lake, Ramona Faye Dickinson (Don) of Madison, Johnny Mack Vickers of Cherry Lake, Ann Marie Vickers of Duxbury, MA, and Douglas Jordan Vickers of Madison; 11 grandchildren: Tommy Vickers of Jennings, Ronnie Bill Vickers of Pavo, Georgia, Carlinda Bass Young of Perry, Fl, Jennifer Dickinson Harper of Madison, Kimberly Dickinson Brandies of Madison, Chad Niehanke of Cherry Lake, Gregory Owen Vickers of Madison, Larry Michael Vickers of Jasper, Kristina Vickers Pinkerton of Felton, DE, Amber Vickers Hutchings of Cadiz, KY, and Michael Vickers of Texas; 26 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband: Monte Grayon Vickers, 3 sons: Ronald Martin Vickers, Monte Eugene Vickers, and Gary Owen Vickers, 3 grandchilden, and 3 great grandchildren. She lived at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center for the past year and half and at Southern Living for the year and a half prior to that. She enjoyed socializing with all of the residents. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center (especially Gail Ragans Henderson and Kay McCarley and Southern Living for the exceptional care they all provided to their mother.
