Mrs. Carolyn Sue Light

Carolyn Sue Light, 75, of Madison, Florida, passed peacefully into her eternal heavenly home on March 25, 2026. Surrounded by her loving family, she took her final breath at 6:00 PM. In her last moments, she opened her eyes and gazed into the heavenly realm, as she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus. Born on November 29, 1950, in Decatur, Indiana, Carolyn attended Adams Central School in Monroe, Indiana, graduating in 1969. She met a handsome young man named Dennis in the 7th grade, and the two exchanged sweet notes hidden inside gum wrappers—a simple beginning to a lifelong love. On June 6, 1970, Carolyn married Dennis Lee Light, and together they shared 55 beautiful years of marriage. Carolyn was a woman of warmth, grace, and radiant joy. She loved cooking and baking, and she was especially known for her incredible candies, cookies, and pies. She found peace and delight in gardening, particularly tending to her herbs, and she had a gifted eye for creating beautiful landscapes. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family—moments filled with laughter, celebration, and love. Carolyn was deeply devoted to her children and grandchildren. She never missed a birthday, and every holiday was made special through her thoughtful touch. Above all, Carolyn loved Jesus Christ with her whole heart. Her faith was the foundation of her life and shone through everything she did. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary Harvey, and her grandson, Christian Redmond. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis Light; her children, Heather (Tony) Chambliss, Christopher (Rhiannon) Light, and Joshua (Megan) Light; her grandchildren, Willow Redmond, Hannah Light, Rheagan Light, Lyla Redmond, Corbin Light, Kyle Redmond, Benaiah Light, and Nolan Light; and her siblings, Patty Harvey Schug, Elaine Harvey Schug, Jack Harvey, Don Harvey, Jerry Harvey, and Greg Harvey. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren Jared (Kline) Chambliss, Ashlin (Eric) Hewell, and Jordan (Liz) Chambliss, along with step-great-grandchildren Kinsley and Hadley Hewell. A graveside service to celebrate Carolyn’s life will be held on Monday, March 30, at 3:00 PM, at Cherry Lake First Baptist Cemetery, 1308 County Road 150, Madison, Florida 32340.
